“Crazy”
One of my new coworkers saw my pill case when I was taking my Lithium and said “Oh, so you’re CRAZY!”
I hate the word “crazy.” I really do. I hate being called crazy. The most I’ll say about myself is jokingly talking about how the meds I take keep me from going bonkers. Never crazy. That word in and of itself just bothers me, a lot. I’ve been called a lot of things, and none of them ever bothered me as much as “crazy” does. Working in a tattoo shop requires a thick skin, which I have, but I guess my skin has a few cracks in it.
I don’t normally hide my meds or take them secretively as I don’t feel anymore that I have anything to be ashamed of. But things like that make me feel small and ashamed and, well… “crazy.”
Think before you speak.

I’ve always felt the same way but I’m always surprised at how few people say this.
Good for you. Thanks.
